Marc Calamia has been producing stories for audiences since before he could drive — literally. The son of a singer/actress and a Mardi Gras float-maker in New Orleans, he grew up in nightclubs and dinner theatres, absorbing the craft of performance from the inside out. That foundation took him all the way to Broadway, where he appeared in two Tony Award-winning productions, toured as a soloist with an international dance company, and played multiple roles in an Academy Award-winning film. Then, in a move that surprised exactly no one who truly knew him, he walked offstage and into a camera lens — and never looked back. What followed was one of the most restless, prolific careers in content and digital media: founding an independent production company, helping launch NBC Digital Studios at 30 Rock, building content capabilities at BBDO, R/GA, 360i, and Viacom, and creating work for brands like Netflix, Nike, Google, Coca-Cola, Samsung, and Mercedes-Benz. Today, as the founder of SGWX, Marc is still doing what he's always done — finding the best storytellers in the room, arming them with the sharpest tools available, and making sure the audience never looks away.
